I brought the 9000 4 years ago. I like the unit other than it takes 4+ hours to make a gallon of water. We have used the unit daily. Unfortunately it has required 4 repairs. The first two I bought parts and did it myself, and the last two have been returns to Waterwise for repairs. I now have over $250 in repairs for this product. By the way the service team has been great getting it repaired. It appears this product is not reliable given my experience. I no longer recommend purchase of this unit and am looking for a better vendor. -- Waterwise 9000 is not reliable
My WaterWise 9000 has been reliable and produces water that tastes good.
I see that several of the people who wrote reviews have had a bad time. I'm sure that everything they say is true, but it hasn't been my experience.
I bought my unit in 2007 and have used it heavily ever since with no trouble. When it came I read the instructions, plugged it in and started distilling. I've been doing so ever since.
I love the fact that I don't have to lug water from the grocery store and that I am not sending a lot of plastic bottles to the recycling or trash.
It has been an excellent unit for me and I'm very glad I bought it. -- Works fine for me
While I did not realize it takes 4 1/2 hours to purify only one gallon of water, still the water tastes good, and so it is just a matter of adjusting. This distiller, which I have now used 3 times, will pay for itself in 6 months, considering the amount of bottled water currently being consumed in my household. Moreover, the earth will be minus my use of hundreds of plastic bottles yearly.
I do wish I had known up front that in addition to the extra filters, one really should consider a second collector's bottle.
If you have cats, note that mine were totally entralled initially (only initially-they are cats) with the hissing and the fan noise this machine makes during the distilling process. -- waterwise 9000 countertop distiller
This is very good unit for purifying your tap water. We bought it after an extensive research on water-purifying technologies and units. My only complaint is the regular cleaning one needs to do, but that again tells me everybody needs a water-purifier. What is better than the oldest form of water purification - distillation? Anyway, no review is perfect, but the review by LivingForJ is off-base. You definitely need to know some stuff before you buy.
