User Reviews
I am not a Multi-Pure dealer, just a very satisfied customer.
I have used an undersink Multi-Pure water filter for about 15 years.
The unit I have will filter 750-1200 gallons depending on the water.
We use the water for drinking, coffee, teas, cooking and of course my dogs and cats water.
The filters cost $57.00 plus shipping and last at least one year. You can get an extra 10% off filters if you sign up for their auto ship program.
I have read reviews of other filters, and none come close to Multi-Pure.
We have saved thousands of dollars because we never buy bottled water.
The only problem I had with it was, after 10 years the faucet that dispenses the water that I installed in my kitchen sink started to leak. Not bad. I found an identical faucet at Home Depot. I could have bought it from the Multi-Pure web site, but Home Depot was cheaper and quicker.
I have never had one other problem. If you install the filter correctly, you will not have leaks. Very solid stainless steel with a very big "O" ring seal.
They make table top units that you can install without drilling a hole in your sink. -- The best water filter
This is a great water filter system that I have been using for years. I understand that the water is very highly filtered and much better than the regular Brita pitcher system I previously used. I also only have to change the filter once per year, and that's fairly easy to do. I think it also may be cheaper in the long run than the Brita, even with with initial high cost. Though it sits on the counter-top behind my kitchen water faucet, it is not in the way and looks nice-enough. The included faucet connectors worked well for my standard faucet. Highly recommended. -- Great water filter system that I've used for years
I have the 750 unit which is a lot like the countertop water filter model. It comes standard with a counter top installation, but at a later date, it can be converted to being under the counter, hence why I upgraded to the 750 model for when I get my own place, not just an apartment. THE WATER QUALITY IS AMAZING!!! And a lot cheaper than buying bottled water within just a year, mind you, I bought a lot.
Ok, so what helped me purchase my Multipure system is that they received this reward below in consumers digest. This information was pulled directly from their site:
Multi-Pure is recognized as a
Consumers Digest BEST BUY!
Multi-Pure is pleased that a Multi-Pure Drinking Water System has been selected as a BEST BUY in water filtration systems by Consumers Digest. Consumers Digest's BEST BUY products must have their performance certified under NSF/ANSI Standards.
"We are honored to, once again, receive this recognition," says H. Allen Rice, CEO of Multi-Pure International. "With so many drinking water systems to choose from, NSF certification helps consumers make the right choice -- Multi-Pure."
Multi-Pure Drinking Water Systems provide consumers the best in performance, the best warranty, and Consumers Digest BEST BUY!
-- Great Water Filter- great for those avoiding plastic!
(I would give this 4.5 stars if I could, since the negatives are minor.) I've had this for a couple of weeks now, and here's my experience so far:
Pluses: It was fairly easy to install, and the installation seems robust - no leakages, which was our main issue with a faucet-mount filter we had tried earlier. Looks good, I like the stainless steel better than some of the plastic casings I saw before I bought this one. The water tastes really good. I can only assume that the filter is removing the nasty stuff it claims to remove, if it is there in my tap water in the first place. The main reason I filter my tap water is to get rid of the Chlorine taste, I'm not as paranoid about tap water as some people are. I am glad to get rid of my "Pur" pitcher which I now fear has been a source of BPA all these years :-). It's nice to have on-demand filtered water instead of having to fill the pitcher and wait for the water to trickle down (since it's of course inevitable that you'll find the pitcher empty just when you have a desperate need for water, and the filter would have just started slowing down too!).
Minuses - I wish the flexible pipe was a little longer, so I could position the filter further away from the sink. As it is, it sits about a foot away from the edge of my sink so it could still get splashed. This won't affect the water of course, it just means I'll have to wipe the shiny stainless steel casing down more frequently.
It would have been nice if the attachment to the faucet was designed to be easily removed and re-attached. That way I could remove it and put it away when the cleaning lady is at work, or if I'm concerned that some visitor is going to make a mistake with the switch and run hot water through the filter. Because that's what I live in fear of - someone running hot water and destroying the filter before its time is up.
In spite of the above (minor) quibbles, I would recommend this filter to anyone who does not have the ability to install an under-sink filter. A HUGE improvement over the Brita/Pur type faucet-mount or pitcher-type filters. -- A HUGE improvement over faucet-mount or pitcher-type filters
I've had this filter for 6 months and I am very pleased. Installation took just minutes without any tools. Filtered tap water tastes exactly like the Arrowhead bottled water that I used to buy, and it might even be cleaner... If you are comparing models, note that this particular filter also reduces Arsenic, a rare feature among countertop filters. -- installs in minutes and works great
