I use it to make distilled water for my little bonsai trees. It looks good, is built solidly, and works like a trooper. I keep it outdoors now in the summer under an eave on our patio. It makes at least two gallons of distilled water for me each day. I'm glad I bought the glass container. I've had it for about a month and am very please with using it. The scale has to be cleaned out each week. I don't use a timer, just let it go until it shuts itself off. As others have said, it goes for about 5 hours.
It arrived well packed and on time with Amazon prime as always.
-- Very pleased with this unit
I bought this product after reading through the reviews. I was very excited to receive the water distiller. From the first time I plugged it in, I had problems. The fan doesn't work properly. Sometimes it will work, but most of the time it doesn't. No matter how many times I hit the reset button, it won't work. I also tried cleaning it with the vacuum cleaner as suggested by the company (from the manual). Nothing again. I finally took it apart to see if something was in the way of the fan. Nope! I have contacted the company and am awaiting a response. From the reviews I've read, I'm very concerned the company won't be willing to help me. I am completely disappointed with this product. The only reason I'm not giving it a 1 is due to the fact when it works, the water tastes great. -- Disappointed!!!
I have had my distiller almost a month and so far I am very pleased. I was about to purchase the more expensive type until I read the reviews on this one and changed my mind. I did purchase a timer, as several people suggested, and the boiling chamber never completely dries from the process. The water tastes great and I love not having to buy my water in plastic jugs and haul them from the store. -- So Far So Good!
The package I received did not contain the glass container, which is listed as part of the product; it's in the title for the product listed on Amazon as well as on the outside of the box; however, it's not included. I am yet to figure out if it is a mistake or a deliberate misrepresentation. -- No Glass Container
After buying the Megahome water distiller with the glass bottle, I was feeling like a moron. Hours of trying to attach the handle to the bottle, I finally succeeded in tightening the last screw. ( Failure after failure convinced me to look for a slightly longer screw with the same threads while searching among 40 or so possibilities in a box.) How was it that I was the only moron among so many satisfied customers? Then a light bulb went on. One customer mentioned loving the idea that the glass bottle could be stored inside the distiller. Of course that meant that no handle had been installed on the bottle. How many customers have given up or did not bother to attach the handle? After saying these unkind words, I want to say that I am extremely pleased with the water distiller. However, if you are mechanically dysfunctional like me, buy the Megahome Distiller with the plastic bottle. -- Mechanicallly Disfunctional?
