User Reviews
Aquasana filter are only rated for 50psi. Mine cracked - twice - the second time ruining my kitchen floor (many similar stories found on the internet). Great water, but low pressure installs only. -- Beware in high pressure areas.
I received the filter last Friday, installed it on Saturday and have been enjoying clear clean water ever since. Many people have written about the difficulties installing the unit and the unit leaking from every imaginable connection, I have yet to experience any of those issues.
I am mechanically inclined by profession (although I am NOT a plumber) and installation took me about 20 minutes after I went to the local Depot to buy 1 new faucet hose (when our house was built commercial plumbers plumb everything in solid copper making things difficult at times). If you go slow and read the directions a monkey could do the install. People with physical disabilities that can not work under the sink may have to have some assistance or have a plumber install the unit. The way the unit is made made me wonder about its longevity and durability but one must remember that they are also trying to make this a do-it-yourself project and NOT a have someone do-it-for-me project. When the install was done I turned the water on at the valve and checked for leaks as I was doing so. No leaks!! I then turned the dedicated faucet on and let the unit run for about 5 minutes to pressurize and get all the air out of the filter housing.
As per the directions/instructions, the dedicated faucet did have excessive run-on for about 10-15 seconds after the faucet was turned off. After the first night this was down to about 3-5 seconds and now it turns off almost immediately.
We switched to this filter from a Zero Water water filter that was good but simply cost to much to to operate. The filters were $60.00 for 4 (you use 2 at a time) from the Depot and they only lasted for 45 gallons or maybe 2 months in our house. When those filters go bad, YOU KNOW IT!! The water smells like it is directly from a lake. That had always pissed me off. They force you to buy the filters! I like the 8 cents per gallon deal and I honestly think the water tastes better.
Like I stated above, I've only had the unit for a few days but we like it. If we begin to have troubles or issues rest assured I will update my review.
Thanks for reading!! -- Great Tasting Water from an Easy to Install Water Filter
For health reasons, my husband and I were concerned about water quality. We chose Aqusana primarily because of the many awards they have won over the many years they've been in business (Consumer Digest, Inc 500, etc). When we lived in the city, we started out using the counter-top system and absolutely loved it! Easy to install, use, and maintain. Our drinking water was always super! Far better than any other water filters as it is dual-carbon filtered/purified and fresh from the tap. After moving to the country, we then upgraded to the under-the-counter system which we loved even more! As well, Aquasana's shower filter is one of the best health-decisions we ever made! For years, I must say that we've been spoiled by absolutely the best water on the planet!! -- The best water ever!!
